Un Coach fuera de expectativas<\/strong><\/h2>\n

El primer entrevistado internacional de IN COACHING es el mundialmente conocido doctor en\u00a0 antropolog\u00eda\u00a0 Joseph O’Connor experimentado M\u00e1ster Coach Trainer y consultor de grandes multinacionales entre las que destacan British TELECOM, HP Invent y British Airways. O’Connor es el fundador de la International Coaching Community, escuela certificadora de m\u00e1s de 13 mil coaches en todos los continentes.<\/em><\/p>\n

Es creador de LAMBENT do Brasil, y autor de 18 libros traducidos en 21 idiomas. Es uno de los autores m\u00e1s le\u00eddos en la tem\u00e1tica de la PNL, con el best sellers en ventas titulado Introducci\u00f3n a la PNL en coautor\u00eda con John Seymour. \n<\/strong>Los mismos de siempre. Ayudar a sus clientes a comprenderse s\u00ed mismos, a reconocer que \u201cel mundo es como es\u201d, y a enfocarse en lo que cada uno puede aportarle. A darse cuenta de que comprender y amar en m\u00e1s importan-te que tener la raz\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Seg\u00fan su respuesta\u00a0 \u00bfCu\u00e1l o cu\u00e1les podr\u00edan ser los aportes del coaching al mundo?

\n<\/strong>Si observamos el mundo en este momento todo luce como un desastre, peor que nunca. En este sentido somos probablemente iguales a cualquier otra generaci\u00f3n. El mundo evoluciona y nosotros evolucionamos con \u00e9l.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

En lugar de quejarnos, necesitamos continuar haciendo lo mejor posible, como siempre. Ese es nuestro rol. Esto no significa que consideremos que el mundo est\u00e9 en lo correcto, y le demos nuestra aprobaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Los coaches no podemos arreglar el mundo, nosotros podemos tratar de arreglar peque\u00f1as piezas de \u00e9l en las que podemos influir. Si todos hici\u00e9ramos eso, el mundo definitivamente podr\u00eda estar en mejores condiciones.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Entonces \u00bfC\u00f3mo podemos manejar las expectativas de la sociedad, de nuestros clientes respecto al coaching?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Yo no s\u00e9 cu\u00e1les son las expectativas de la sociedad sobre el coaching. Tengo la presunci\u00f3n de que la sociedad no est\u00e1 interesada en el coaching. Inclusive para m\u00ed a los clientes no les importa el coaching. A ellos solo les importa que alguien les ayude a resolver sus problemas, a lograr sus metas y a vivir una vida m\u00e1s feliz.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ese es el problema b\u00e1sico con las expectativas. Si las expectativas no son satisfechas, la gente responde con decepci\u00f3n, esa mezcla t\u00f3xica entre rabia y tristeza. Act\u00faan como si las otras personas estuvieran en la obligaci\u00f3n de cumplir con sus expectativas.<\/p>\n

A pesar de que la otra persona usualmente no sabe cu\u00e1les son esas expectativas. Aun cuando tus expectativas son alcanzadas, te encuentras atrapado en la burbuja de las expectativas de la sociedad. Vamos a olvidarnos de las expectativas! Manteng\u00e1monos abiertos a lo inesperado y a la creatividad. No nos preocupemos en relaci\u00f3n a lo que la sociedad espera de nosotros.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Luego de d\u00e9cadas de difusi\u00f3n y expansi\u00f3n \u00bfConsidera que el coaching ha evolucionado?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>No lo s\u00e9. Eso espero.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

El coaching no se fundamenta en complicados modelos o herramientas. Su esencia tiene que ver con la sincera intenci\u00f3n de la persona de ayudar a otros y ser emp\u00e1ticos con ellos.<\/p>\n

Recae en la habilidad del coach de realizar preguntas al cliente que \u00e9ste se har\u00eda as\u00ed mismo si pudiera pensar en ellas. Latinoam\u00e9rica no es diferente al resto del mundo en este aspecto.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>En nuestra Regi\u00f3n se han abierto numerosas escuelas de coaching, como una suerte de explosi\u00f3n en donde hay de todo de muy bueno a no tanto, \u00bfQu\u00e9 opini\u00f3n le merece esta situaci\u00f3n?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Hay diferentes escuelas de coaching predominantemente en Europa y Latinoam\u00e9rica, y la cultura de la gente es diferente en cada lugar. Los coaches requieren estar conscientes en este aspecto. Todos los pa\u00edses necesitan coaches \u00e9ticos y competentes. Como cofundador de la ICC esa ha sido siempre nuestra misi\u00f3n. Promover un ejercicio \u00e9tico y competente en todo el mundo. Le decimos a las personas \u00a1\u00danete a nosotros! si as\u00ed lo deseas.<\/p>\n

\u201cSi el coach y su cliente est\u00e1n implicados en la lucha por la libertad, \u00bfQui\u00e9nes son sus enemigos?
\n\u00bfQu\u00e9 est\u00e1 bloqueando ese cambio que el cliente desea?
\nEn la mayor\u00eda de los casos el enemigo es el h\u00e1bito.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEl problema de las declaraciones p\u00fablicas de incompetencia consiste en que los dem\u00e1s se las creen. Como no esperan de ti que tengas \u00e9xito, no te piden que te las cuestiones. Al contrario refuerzan tu creencia.\u201d<\/p>\n

Desde que iniciamos la traves\u00eda para hacer posible IN COACHING, se tuvo como objetivo la entrevista al ic\u00f3nico Joseph O’Connor, \u00e9l constituye un referente fundacional del coaching en Venezuela, una generaci\u00f3n de coaches venezolanos se han formado bajo sus preceptos acad\u00e9micos. Por ello era un desaf\u00edo para todo el equipo cristalizar esta meta.<\/em><\/p>\n

As\u00ed gracias a la perseverancia de nuestra directora para la Regi\u00f3n Zulia compa\u00f1era y M\u00e1ster Trainer de la International Coaching Community (ICC) para Venezuela-Panam\u00e1 Leyla Su\u00e1rez, logramos la entrevista al M\u00e1ster Coach O’Connor, un hombre disruptivo que cautiva en cada frase y genera las reflexiones necesarias para ampliar la visi\u00f3n del coaching y la vida.<\/em><\/p>\n

In my early years of school, one of my favorite subjects was called Moral and Civic Education.<\/strong><\/p>

Depending on when each reader lived his childhood, he will know what I mean.<\/p>

For those who do not know, M.C.E. was a formal and compulsory subject in schools, which was intended to help educate good citizens, who knew their duties and rights.<\/p>

But this goal I only discovered recently, at that time the literal meaning of these words never occurred to me, I simply loved to paint the cartoons of the comic strips, the Brazilian flag, and to talk about the daily facts of my city and country. This was much cooler than decorating the tables or learning about things that had happened and stopped happening hundreds of years before I even existed!<\/p>

The other day, driving back to my house here in London, I watched people cross the street in front of me, and thought\u2026 how do the moral values of a culture or region directly reflect the everyday reality of an entire nation?<\/strong><\/p>

And I\u2019ve thought of all the countries I\u2019ve been to, which are dozens of them, and cultures in general, and how clear it is to understand which are those values established strongly from the cradle, in that culture of which that person did and of which he is a part.<\/p>

An IVH (Human Value Index) survey conducted by the UN (The United Nations) showed that in the opinion of Brazilians, in general, what it is necessary to change in Brazil for quality of life to improve is, first, education, followed by public policy, violence, moral values \u200b\u200band employment. In the State of S\u00e3o Paulo there was a variation in relation to the national opinion, with moral values \u200b\u200bfirst.<\/p>

Most likely, if the same survey were done in England or in any other country, the result would be another.<\/strong><\/p>

And it occurred to me: This applies not only to countries, but also to each of the families and the citizens.<\/p>

If we stop to think, we will see clearly how the values we experience (or not) in our home, influences our life in general.<\/p>

I particularly have two very strong and unshakable values, one is respect, and the other is honesty.<\/p>

I cannot imagine a satisfactorily happy life without the presence of one of these two values.<\/p>

And analyzing my reality, I see how everyone in my house also adopted the same guiding values, just as I adopted the values of the other members of my family.<\/p>

And in that I thought as I watched people cross the street\u2026 in the tranquility I was feeling, standing at the traffic light, with the glass open, and not even thinking about checking the mirror to make sure no one was approaching to rob me. And everyone around them was acting the same way.<\/strong><\/p>

The boy who appeared to be about 10 years of age crossing the street alone, with his school bag, talking on his iPhone, the executive with his backpack, who did not try to disguise the presence of a laptop, and the old man, who walked calmly on the street with his walking stick, not being hit by the other pedestrians, and not bothering to finish crossing quickly, just in case the green light turned red for him.<\/p>

And I realized the main reason for me to love London, is because people and their values, build a nation and (regardless of the weather), build the quality of life they have. (I\u2019m not just referring to London, but mentioning what I observed while thinking about it. Of course, I love Brazil a lot, however, for different reasons.)<\/p>

Our values build our reality, as long as we are congruent with them!<\/p>

After all, what good is it to value education if you\u2019re too lazy to read a book?<\/p>

Or honesty, if you\u2019re happy when you get a little extra change and you don't even consider returning the difference to the cashier?<\/p>
