Al trabajar como coach ejecutiva y de equipos, asesorando, liderando proyectos, entrenando y tambi\u00e9n como consultora en \u00e1mbitos corporativos e institucionales, me encuentro muchas veces con empresarios y ejecutivos que tienen muy buenas intenciones y valores. Consideran importantes a las personas, quieren incorporar nuevas pr\u00e1cticas y a\u00fan cambiar su forma de gestionar pero no saben c\u00f3mo hacerlo.<\/div>\n
\n

En este mundo corporativo diverso, -tanto como organizaciones existen- y similar \u2013integrado por personas y buscando resultados- nos encontramos en un per\u00edodo de transici\u00f3n que tiene larga data.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Y en esto de lo similar, escucho con frecuencia sobre conflictos complejos que impactan negativamente en los resultados -tanto a nivel de las personas como del negocio-, y que muchas veces se deben a la persistencia de pr\u00e1cticas de un estilo de\u00a0gesti\u00f3n\u00a0con vestigios de la era industrial, caracterizada por el mando, con una organizaci\u00f3n vertical y una direcci\u00f3n centrada en el control de tareas.<\/div>\n
Actualmente la gesti\u00f3n de personas avanza en un proceso r\u00e1pido y demandante. Las organizaciones que contemplan su negocio colocando a las personas como centro, tienen resultados destacados. Centrarse en las personas implica un liderazgo caracterizado por el empowerment, donde las estructuras son m\u00e1s horizontales y se promueve el desarrollo de los talentos.<\/div>\n
Quienes optan por este estilo de gesti\u00f3n tienen \u00e9xito. Fomentan espacios colaborativos de compromiso compartido, trabajan en equipo, son flexibles, emp\u00e1ticos, negocian ganar-ganar, delegan y se orientan a las relaciones, todo esto, acompa\u00f1ado de inteligencia emocional.<\/div>\n
En el mundo entero hablamos de este estilo de gesti\u00f3n y probablemente nos preguntemos si esto es para nosotros, para nuestra compa\u00f1\u00eda y c\u00f3mo podemos llevar adelante esta trasformaci\u00f3n tan vital.<\/div>\n
En primer lugar es importante tener presente que se trata de un proceso de transformaci\u00f3n que requiere inversi\u00f3n. Y cuando con el diario del lunes -que est\u00e1 a la vuelta de la esquina- nos beneficiamos con alto retorno, nos damos cuenta que la inversi\u00f3n fue poca para tal resultado.<\/div>\n
Este proceso lo activamos liderando y gestionando, articulando objetivos y valores -de la organizaci\u00f3n y las personas- para que a nivel sist\u00e9mico e individual todos obtengamos resultados. Lo que es posible en una cultura organizacional que tiene como base el aprendizaje y que genera compromiso, responsabilidad, participaci\u00f3n y acci\u00f3n.<\/div>\n

In my early years of school, one of my favorite subjects was called Moral and Civic Education.<\/strong><\/p>

Depending on when each reader lived his childhood, he will know what I mean.<\/p>

For those who do not know, M.C.E. was a formal and compulsory subject in schools, which was intended to help educate good citizens, who knew their duties and rights.<\/p>

But this goal I only discovered recently, at that time the literal meaning of these words never occurred to me, I simply loved to paint the cartoons of the comic strips, the Brazilian flag, and to talk about the daily facts of my city and country. This was much cooler than decorating the tables or learning about things that had happened and stopped happening hundreds of years before I even existed!<\/p>

The other day, driving back to my house here in London, I watched people cross the street in front of me, and thought\u2026 how do the moral values of a culture or region directly reflect the everyday reality of an entire nation?<\/strong><\/p>

And I\u2019ve thought of all the countries I\u2019ve been to, which are dozens of them, and cultures in general, and how clear it is to understand which are those values established strongly from the cradle, in that culture of which that person did and of which he is a part.<\/p>

An IVH (Human Value Index) survey conducted by the UN (The United Nations) showed that in the opinion of Brazilians, in general, what it is necessary to change in Brazil for quality of life to improve is, first, education, followed by public policy, violence, moral values \u200b\u200band employment. In the State of S\u00e3o Paulo there was a variation in relation to the national opinion, with moral values \u200b\u200bfirst.<\/p>

Most likely, if the same survey were done in England or in any other country, the result would be another.<\/strong><\/p>

And it occurred to me: This applies not only to countries, but also to each of the families and the citizens.<\/p>

If we stop to think, we will see clearly how the values we experience (or not) in our home, influences our life in general.<\/p>

I particularly have two very strong and unshakable values, one is respect, and the other is honesty.<\/p>

I cannot imagine a satisfactorily happy life without the presence of one of these two values.<\/p>

And analyzing my reality, I see how everyone in my house also adopted the same guiding values, just as I adopted the values of the other members of my family.<\/p>

And in that I thought as I watched people cross the street\u2026 in the tranquility I was feeling, standing at the traffic light, with the glass open, and not even thinking about checking the mirror to make sure no one was approaching to rob me. And everyone around them was acting the same way.<\/strong><\/p>

The boy who appeared to be about 10 years of age crossing the street alone, with his school bag, talking on his iPhone, the executive with his backpack, who did not try to disguise the presence of a laptop, and the old man, who walked calmly on the street with his walking stick, not being hit by the other pedestrians, and not bothering to finish crossing quickly, just in case the green light turned red for him.<\/p>

And I realized the main reason for me to love London, is because people and their values, build a nation and (regardless of the weather), build the quality of life they have. (I\u2019m not just referring to London, but mentioning what I observed while thinking about it. Of course, I love Brazil a lot, however, for different reasons.)<\/p>

Our values build our reality, as long as we are congruent with them!<\/p>

After all, what good is it to value education if you\u2019re too lazy to read a book?<\/p>

Or honesty, if you\u2019re happy when you get a little extra change and you don't even consider returning the difference to the cashier?<\/p>
