O primeiro entrevistado internacional da IN COACHING \u00e9 o especialista de renome mundial em antropologia Joseph O’Connor, reconhecido Master Coach Trainer e consultor de grandes multinacionais, entre os quais destacam-se British Telecom, HP Invent e British Airways. O’Connor \u00e9 um dos fundadores da International Coaching Community, comunidade que j\u00e1 certificou mais de 12 mil coaches em todos os continentes.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ele \u00e9 o criador da Lambent do Brasil e autor de 18 livros traduzidos para 21 idiomas. Ele \u00e9 um dos autores mais lidos no campo da PNL, incluindo o best seller \u201cIntrodu\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 PNL\u201d em co-autoria com John Seymour. \nH\u00e1 uma quest\u00e3o essencial que devemos pedir a um treinador da estatura internacional de Joseph O’Connor: Atualmente, o que voc\u00ea considera s\u00e3o os desafios mais importantes para os coaches em todo o mundo?<\/p>\n

Joseph O\u2019Connor<\/strong>
\nO mesmo que sempre. Ajude seus clientes a se entender, a reconhecer que “o mundo \u00e9 como \u00e9” e a se concentrar no que cada um pode contribuir. Para perceber que compreens\u00e3o e amor em mais importante do que estar certo.<\/p>\n

IN COACHING<\/strong>
\nDe acordo com a sua resposta, quais poderiam ser as contribui\u00e7\u00f5es do coaching para o mundo?<\/p>\n

Joseph O\u2019Connor<\/strong>
\nSe olharmos para o mundo neste momento, tudo parece um desastre, pior do que nunca. Nesse sentido, provavelmente somos os mesmos que qualquer outra gera\u00e7\u00e3o. O mundo evolui e evolu\u00edmos com ele.
\nEm vez de reclamar, precisamos continuar fazendo o melhor que podemos, como sempre. Esse \u00e9 o nosso papel. Isso n\u00e3o significa que consideremos que o mundo est\u00e1 certo e n\u00f3s damos nossa aprova\u00e7\u00e3o.
\nOs coaches n\u00e3o conseguem consertar o mundo, podemos tentar consertar pequenos peda\u00e7os daquilo que podemos influenciar. Se todos n\u00f3s fiz\u00e9ssemos isso, o mundo definitivamente poderia estar em melhores condi\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

IN COACHING<\/strong>
\nEnt\u00e3o, como podemos gerenciar as expectativas da sociedade, dos nossos clientes quanto ao coaching?<\/p>\n

Joseph O\u2019Connor<\/strong>
\nN\u00e3o sei quais s\u00e3o as expectativas da sociedade sobre o coaching. Tenho a presun\u00e7\u00e3o de que a sociedade n\u00e3o est\u00e1 interessada em coaching. Mesmo para mim, os clientes n\u00e3o se importam com o coaching. Eles s\u00f3 se importam se algu\u00e9m os ajuda a resolver seus problemas, alcan\u00e7ar seus objetivos e viver uma vida mais feliz.<\/p>\n

Esse \u00e9 o problema b\u00e1sico das expectativas. Se as expectativas n\u00e3o forem cumpridas, as pessoas respondem com decep\u00e7\u00e3o, essa mistura t\u00f3xica entre raiva e tristeza. Eles agem como se outras pessoas estivessem obrigadas a cumprir suas expectativas.<\/p>\n

Mesmo que a outra pessoa geralmente n\u00e3o saiba quais s\u00e3o essas expectativas. Mesmo quando suas expectativas s\u00e3o atendidas, voc\u00ea est\u00e1 preso na espuma das expectativas da sociedade. Vamos esquecer as expectativas! Fiquemos abertos ao inesperado e \u00e0 criatividade. N\u00e3o se preocupe com o que a sociedade espera de n\u00f3s.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

IN COACHING<\/strong>
\nAp\u00f3s d\u00e9cadas de difus\u00e3o e expans\u00e3o, voc\u00ea considera que os treinamentos evolu\u00edram?<\/p>\n

Joseph O\u2019Connor<\/strong>
\nN\u00e3o sei. Assim espero.<\/p>\n

O coaching n\u00e3o \u00e9 baseado em modelos ou ferramentas compilados. Sua ess\u00eancia tem a ver com a inten\u00e7\u00e3o sincera da pessoa de ajudar os outros e ser emp\u00e1tica com eles.<\/p>\n

Baseia-se na habilidade do coach em fazer perguntas ao cliente, para se questionar se poderia pensar nelas. A Am\u00e9rica Latina n\u00e3o \u00e9 diferente do resto do mundo neste aspecto.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Em nossa regi\u00e3o, muitas escolas de treinamento foram abertas, como uma esp\u00e9cie de explos\u00e3o onde h\u00e1 algumas muito boas e outras nem tanto. Qual sua opini\u00e3o sobre essa situa\u00e7\u00e3o?<\/p>\n

Joseph O\u2019Connor<\/strong>
\nExistem diferentes escolas de coaching predominantemente na Europa e na Am\u00e9rica Latina, e a cultura das pessoas \u00e9 diferente em cada lugar. Os colegas precisam ser conscientes desse aspecto. Todos os pa\u00edses precisam de treinadores \u00e9ticos e competentes. Como co-fundador da ICC, esta sempre foi nossa miss\u00e3o. Promover um exerc\u00edcio \u00e9tico e competente em todo o mundo. Dizemos \u00e0s pessoas \u201cJunte-se a n\u00f3s!\u201d se desejarem.<\/p>\n

“Se o treinador e seu cliente est\u00e3o envolvidos na luta pela liberdade, quem s\u00e3o seus inimigos?
\nO que bloqueia essa mudan\u00e7a que o cliente deseja?
\nNa maioria dos casos, o inimigo \u00e9 o h\u00e1bito.”<\/p>\n

“O problema das declara\u00e7\u00f5es p\u00fablicas de incompet\u00eancia \u00e9 que outros acreditam neles. Como eles n\u00e3o esperam que voc\u00ea tenha sucesso, eles n\u00e3o lhe pedem perguntas. Pelo contr\u00e1rio, refor\u00e7am sua cren\u00e7a.”<\/p>\n

Uma vez que come\u00e7amos a jornada para tornar IN COACHING poss\u00edvel, o objetivo era entrevistar o ic\u00f4nico Joseph O’Connor. Ele \u00e9 uma refer\u00eancia fundamental de coaching na Venezuela, toda uma gera\u00e7\u00e3o de coaches venezuelanos foram treinados sob seus preceitos acad\u00eamicos. Portanto, foi um desafio para toda a equipe concretizar esse objetivo.<\/em>

In my early years of school, one of my favorite subjects was called Moral and Civic Education.<\/strong><\/p>

Depending on when each reader lived his childhood, he will know what I mean.<\/p>

For those who do not know, M.C.E. was a formal and compulsory subject in schools, which was intended to help educate good citizens, who knew their duties and rights.<\/p>

But this goal I only discovered recently, at that time the literal meaning of these words never occurred to me, I simply loved to paint the cartoons of the comic strips, the Brazilian flag, and to talk about the daily facts of my city and country. This was much cooler than decorating the tables or learning about things that had happened and stopped happening hundreds of years before I even existed!<\/p>

The other day, driving back to my house here in London, I watched people cross the street in front of me, and thought\u2026 how do the moral values of a culture or region directly reflect the everyday reality of an entire nation?<\/strong><\/p>

And I\u2019ve thought of all the countries I\u2019ve been to, which are dozens of them, and cultures in general, and how clear it is to understand which are those values established strongly from the cradle, in that culture of which that person did and of which he is a part.<\/p>

An IVH (Human Value Index) survey conducted by the UN (The United Nations) showed that in the opinion of Brazilians, in general, what it is necessary to change in Brazil for quality of life to improve is, first, education, followed by public policy, violence, moral values \u200b\u200band employment. In the State of S\u00e3o Paulo there was a variation in relation to the national opinion, with moral values \u200b\u200bfirst.<\/p>

Most likely, if the same survey were done in England or in any other country, the result would be another.<\/strong><\/p>

And it occurred to me: This applies not only to countries, but also to each of the families and the citizens.<\/p>

If we stop to think, we will see clearly how the values we experience (or not) in our home, influences our life in general.<\/p>

I particularly have two very strong and unshakable values, one is respect, and the other is honesty.<\/p>

I cannot imagine a satisfactorily happy life without the presence of one of these two values.<\/p>

And analyzing my reality, I see how everyone in my house also adopted the same guiding values, just as I adopted the values of the other members of my family.<\/p>

And in that I thought as I watched people cross the street\u2026 in the tranquility I was feeling, standing at the traffic light, with the glass open, and not even thinking about checking the mirror to make sure no one was approaching to rob me. And everyone around them was acting the same way.<\/strong><\/p>

The boy who appeared to be about 10 years of age crossing the street alone, with his school bag, talking on his iPhone, the executive with his backpack, who did not try to disguise the presence of a laptop, and the old man, who walked calmly on the street with his walking stick, not being hit by the other pedestrians, and not bothering to finish crossing quickly, just in case the green light turned red for him.<\/p>

And I realized the main reason for me to love London, is because people and their values, build a nation and (regardless of the weather), build the quality of life they have. (I\u2019m not just referring to London, but mentioning what I observed while thinking about it. Of course, I love Brazil a lot, however, for different reasons.)<\/p>

Our values build our reality, as long as we are congruent with them!<\/p>

After all, what good is it to value education if you\u2019re too lazy to read a book?<\/p>

Or honesty, if you\u2019re happy when you get a little extra change and you don't even consider returning the difference to the cashier?<\/p>
