Natal e Ano Novo s\u00e3o feriados muito agrad\u00e1veis.
\nE… como \u00e9 Ano Novo, que tal falar das resolu\u00e7\u00f5es de Ano Novo?
\nBem, vou resistir \u00e0 tenta\u00e7\u00e3o de dedicar este artigo \u00e0 futilidade ou import\u00e2ncia ou sucesso ou fracasso das resolu\u00e7\u00f5es do Ano Novo.<\/p>\n

Vamos falar sobre o inesperado.<\/p>\n

Quando eu era crian\u00e7a, meus pais deixavam um lugar vazio na mesa do jantar no Natal para o inesperado convidado. Faca, garfo e guardanapo foram postos, e a cadeira est\u00e1 pronta, caso algu\u00e9m chegasse. Minha m\u00e3e fazia um pouco de comida extra al\u00e9m do que a fam\u00edlia comeria.<\/p>\n

Este lugar para o “convidado inesperado” \u00e9 um antigo costume irland\u00eas, (ainda em uso em partes da Irlanda). Um viajante cansado pode bater em sua porta \u00e0 procura de abrigo. E os irlandeses, sendo uma das pessoas mais hospitaleiras da terra, querem oferecer mais do que apenas um abrigo da chuva. (Est\u00e1 sempre chovendo na Irlanda).<\/p>\n

Na verdade, eu n\u00e3o entendia a ideia quando era jovem. Parecia agrad\u00e1vel, mas in\u00fatil, e nunca tivemos nenhum convidado inesperado, ent\u00e3o por que se preocupar? Ainda assim, lembro-me disso todo Natal.<\/p>\n

\u00c9 um pensamento generoso querer ter um convidado para compartilhar a comida. Em um n\u00edvel mais profundo, \u00e9 uma abertura para o inesperado. Quando eu busquei o termo “convidado inesperado” na internet, os resultados que recebi foram principalmente ligados a algo assustador, (h\u00e1 um famoso conto sobre assassinato chamado “O convidado inesperado”.) Como se um convidado inesperado fosse sempre ruim.<\/p>\n

A palavra “esperar” \u00e9 derivada de ‘ex’, que significa ‘antes’, e ‘espect’ que significa ‘ver’, ent\u00e3o \u00e9 esperado algo se voc\u00ea j\u00e1 viu isso e inesperado se voc\u00ea n\u00e3o tiver visto. Ent\u00e3o, \u00e9 novo e vamos nos alegrar de o inesperado acontecer. N\u00e3o podemos prever o que acontece de um minuto para o outro, sempre h\u00e1 a possibilidade da surpresa. A vida seria t\u00e3o chata se fosse o contr\u00e1rio.<\/p>\n

No entanto, gastamos muito tempo, esfor\u00e7o e energia tentando controlar nosso meio ambiente, afastando a possibilidade do inesperado como se fosse um ladr\u00e3o. O que distingue um convidado de um intruso \u00e9 forma como voc\u00ea os v\u00ea (sempre que n\u00e3o pretendem prejudicar). Um convidado n\u00e3o \u00e9 um intruso, pelo contr\u00e1rio, eles s\u00e3o bem-vindos.<\/p>\n

Quando o inesperado vem, muitas vezes tentamos diminu\u00ed-lo, e fazemos isso de duas maneiras.<\/p>\n

Uma delas \u00e9 dizer: “Eu sabia disso de qualquer maneira” e, se isso n\u00e3o funcionar, ent\u00e3o recorremos \u00e0 segunda op\u00e7\u00e3o: “Bem, de qualquer maneira, n\u00e3o \u00e9 importante”.<\/p>\n

Uma pena, uma oportunidade inesperada pode ser desperdi\u00e7ada.<\/p>\n

Bem-vindo ao convidado inesperado, h\u00e1 muitos l\u00e1 fora, esperando uma chance de entrar. Eles t\u00eam hist\u00f3rias interessantes e maravilhosas para contar e podem dar-lhe a ideia de uma nova aventura. Tenha um lugar na sua mesa mental para eles, para que voc\u00ea possa ouvir os contos dos viajantes. Como coaches, se fizermos isso n\u00f3s mesmos, poderemos ajudar nossos clientes a ver as possibilidades em sua experi\u00eancia, h\u00e1 um novo ano a partir de todos os dias.<\/p>\n

\nMesmo que sejam uma multid\u00e3o de tristezas,

ainda assim, trate cada h\u00f3spede honradamente.

In my early years of school, one of my favorite subjects was called Moral and Civic Education.<\/strong><\/p>

Depending on when each reader lived his childhood, he will know what I mean.<\/p>

For those who do not know, M.C.E. was a formal and compulsory subject in schools, which was intended to help educate good citizens, who knew their duties and rights.<\/p>

But this goal I only discovered recently, at that time the literal meaning of these words never occurred to me, I simply loved to paint the cartoons of the comic strips, the Brazilian flag, and to talk about the daily facts of my city and country. This was much cooler than decorating the tables or learning about things that had happened and stopped happening hundreds of years before I even existed!<\/p>

The other day, driving back to my house here in London, I watched people cross the street in front of me, and thought\u2026 how do the moral values of a culture or region directly reflect the everyday reality of an entire nation?<\/strong><\/p>

And I\u2019ve thought of all the countries I\u2019ve been to, which are dozens of them, and cultures in general, and how clear it is to understand which are those values established strongly from the cradle, in that culture of which that person did and of which he is a part.<\/p>

An IVH (Human Value Index) survey conducted by the UN (The United Nations) showed that in the opinion of Brazilians, in general, what it is necessary to change in Brazil for quality of life to improve is, first, education, followed by public policy, violence, moral values \u200b\u200band employment. In the State of S\u00e3o Paulo there was a variation in relation to the national opinion, with moral values \u200b\u200bfirst.<\/p>

Most likely, if the same survey were done in England or in any other country, the result would be another.<\/strong><\/p>

And it occurred to me: This applies not only to countries, but also to each of the families and the citizens.<\/p>

If we stop to think, we will see clearly how the values we experience (or not) in our home, influences our life in general.<\/p>

I particularly have two very strong and unshakable values, one is respect, and the other is honesty.<\/p>

I cannot imagine a satisfactorily happy life without the presence of one of these two values.<\/p>

And analyzing my reality, I see how everyone in my house also adopted the same guiding values, just as I adopted the values of the other members of my family.<\/p>

And in that I thought as I watched people cross the street\u2026 in the tranquility I was feeling, standing at the traffic light, with the glass open, and not even thinking about checking the mirror to make sure no one was approaching to rob me. And everyone around them was acting the same way.<\/strong><\/p>

The boy who appeared to be about 10 years of age crossing the street alone, with his school bag, talking on his iPhone, the executive with his backpack, who did not try to disguise the presence of a laptop, and the old man, who walked calmly on the street with his walking stick, not being hit by the other pedestrians, and not bothering to finish crossing quickly, just in case the green light turned red for him.<\/p>

And I realized the main reason for me to love London, is because people and their values, build a nation and (regardless of the weather), build the quality of life they have. (I\u2019m not just referring to London, but mentioning what I observed while thinking about it. Of course, I love Brazil a lot, however, for different reasons.)<\/p>

Our values build our reality, as long as we are congruent with them!<\/p>

After all, what good is it to value education if you\u2019re too lazy to read a book?<\/p>

Or honesty, if you\u2019re happy when you get a little extra change and you don't even consider returning the difference to the cashier?<\/p>
